Making road information more trustworthy.

We collect road data, track how it changes and put every change in front of a person for review. On top of this infrastructure we are building iOS, Android and web apps that will offer optional, detailed drive tracking.

Scope
Road data infrastructure

Road information is scattered and goes stale quickly.

Information about a road circulates in different sources, in different formats and from different dates. It is often impossible to see which record is current, where it came from or when it was last checked.

Scattered
The same place can have several records, and they do not always agree.
Goes stale
Roads and the rules on them change; a record that was right yesterday can be wrong today.
Untraceable
A record’s source, its changes and the date it was last checked are usually not visible.
The driver’s side
Drivers rarely have a detailed, reliable record of their own driving.

Every change passes in front of a person.

To turn complex road data into more trustworthy information, we bring data collection, change tracking and human review together in one process. The information you will see in the apps will come from the catalogue this process produces.

  1. Figure 1 / A

    Collection and comparison

Source data is collected at regular intervals and every collection is stored as it is. Comparing consecutive collections shows what was added, what changed and what disappeared.

  2. Figure 1 / B

    Human review

Every new, changed or missing record enters a review queue. The system does not guess matches; a person decides, and the decision is kept together with its history.

  3. Figure 1 / C

    Versioned catalogue

Every approved change creates a new version of the catalogue. The iOS, Android and web apps will take their information from this catalogue.

A second-by-second record of your drive.

While drive tracking is on, the app will record your speed and position once per second. After the drive you will be able to review the route on a map and your speed on a chart. These features are in development and not available yet.

No recording unless you turn it on.

Drive recording, speed notifications and EDS alerts work only when you switch them on.

Planned features

Second-by-second recording
While recording is on, speed and position are recorded every second, so the whole drive can be reviewed in detail.
Speed notifications
Tells you in good time when you approach or exceed the speed limit.
EDS alerts
Gives advance notice as you approach EDS points and average-speed corridors, and helps you stay below the legal limit inside a corridor.
Drive history and replay
Follow finished drives on the map, review them with a speed chart and replay them from the start.
Drive summary
A summary of time, distance and speed at the end of each drive, plus weekly and monthly totals.
Access from the web
Sign in to the web map with your account to look at your drives on a computer as well.

Where you will use it

iOS
iPhone app: drive mode, alerts and drive records.
Android
Android app: the same driving experience.
Web map
In the browser, signed in with your account: map information and recorded drives.

Our approach

We build the product by four rules.

  1. Decisions, not guesses

When we are not sure that two records describe the same place, the system does not guess; a person decides. An unverified change is never shown as settled fact.

  2. History that is never deleted

Where each record came from, when it changed and who verified it is kept. Old records are not deleted; corrections are recorded too.

  3. Your driving data, your decision

Location and speed records are sensitive data. Recording and alerts do not run unless you turn them on, and our principle is to process only the data that is genuinely needed.

  4. Two languages from the start

Turkish and English are written together, and the product is built so that further languages can be added. We do not see accessibility as a feature to add later.

Where we are today

The current state of the product, as it is. We do not give dates; this log changes when the state does.

About

Patrivos is a product startup that aims to make road information more trustworthy and driving more informed.

We started with the data itself: an infrastructure that keeps every change, puts it through a person’s approval and never deletes its history. We are building the iOS, Android and web apps on this foundation.

Our goal: an experience in which road information comes with its source and freshness, and drivers can understand their own driving.
